12 Alternative Movies We're Sick Of Hearing Are Set At Christmas
9. On Her Majesty's Secret Service
The Christmas television schedule requires at least one Bond film but surprisingly the Bond film set at Christmas, On Her Majesty's Secret Service, is not only the least Christmassy but perhaps the least like a Bond film. On Her Majesty's Secret Service has a polarising effect on fans: on one hand it has the realism and emotional depth that many Bond films lack. On the other if you want realism and emotional depth, James Bond might not be the franchise for you. Fans of Skyfall might enjoy this low key offering (complete with a plot that might plausibly work, at least compared to the usual things James Bond faces) but the downer ending makes it hardly feel-good Christmas viewing. Poor, poor Diana Rigg.
