12 Annoying Fanboy Complaints That Drive Everyone Insane

7. "More Unnecessary Sequels...That We Can't Stop Paying For"

The Complaint: "Hollywood's nothing but repetitive, boring sequels these days. Where's the damn originality? But oh man, I can't wait to see Part 1 of that three-part novel adaptation next weekend. Just take my money already!" Why It's Annoying: Because as much as people love to hate on sequels, they keep feeding the machine. Harry Potter and Twilight kick-started the trend of novel adaptations being split in half, which has since been undertaken by the likes of The Hunger Games, Divergent, and most insultingly, The Hobbit, which took a relatively short book and turned it into three movies. Hollywood is only doing this because fans allow themselves to be exploited, because they absolutely have to lap up everything about their chosen property. As such, don't expect much to change in the future unless these cash-grabs start to tank at the box office. At least a few favoured franchises, such as The Maze Runner, aren't opting for the final book two-film split, which garners them a little more respect.
