Why It's Awesome: Lars von Trier's 4-hour, 2-part sex opus is a wildly ambitious, startlingly frank look at human sexuality, filled to the brim with an exceptional cast, including Charlotte Gainsbourg, Stellan Skarsgard, Shia LaBeouf, Christian Slater, Uma Thurman, Connie Nielsen, Jamie Bell, Willem Dafoe, and Udo Kier. Though it's typically self-indulgent and even a little pretentious as only von Trier knows how, it's also stingingly funny and refreshingly honest. Oh, and there's a lot of nudity. Why You Can Only Watch It Once: For starters, it's 4 hours long, which is a tough sell even if you're talking about Michael Bay's next Transformers movie, but with a slow-moving art-house flick, it's really quite the ask. Furthermore, its brilliance is pitted against von Trier's own insistent, even pompous approach, such that though viewers may find the film great as an overall experience, they simply may not feel any desire to return to the weirdness ever again.
Stay at home dad who spends as much time teaching his kids the merits of Martin Scorsese as possible (against the missus' wishes).
