12 Awesome Supporting Actors Who Need Their Own Movies

6. Walton Goggins

Walton Goggins is a rarest of character actors who could so easily have been typecast as a thinly-written hick stereotype, but over the last two decades he's built up an increasingly enviable body of work.

Goggins came to prominence in FX's hit TV show The Shield, before leaping off to star in Justified, for which he received an Outstanding Supporting Actor Emmy nomination.

In more recent years he's graduated towards high-profile movie roles, giving memorable turns in Predators, Django Unchained and Ant-Man and the Wasp, even if it's always felt like Goggins hasn't ever quite received his cinematic due.

If that distinctive southern drawl belies his tenacity and complexity as an actor, he's proven for the better part of 20 years that he's one of the most reliably committed and unexpectedly dynamic supporting players working today.

If there any filmmakers out there struggling to cast the morally ambiguous protagonist of their western movie, you've got your man right here. He's long overdue that kind of marquee role.
