12 Awesome Villains In Otherwise Terrible Movies
3. Count Dooku - Star Wars: Attack Of The Clones
Some will say that Darth Maul is the most egregiously misused great villain in Star Wars movies, but as long as you put aside Jar-Jar Binks, Attack Of The Clone is worse than The Phantom Menace and Count Dooku was a far more rounded villain.
In the hands of Christopher Lee - the most perfectly cast of all Sith lords - Dooku is as terrifyingly regal and far more complex than most Star Wars villains. He was a master tactician, a fierce intellect and a fearsome military leader, and he left the Jedi - somewhat atypically - because of principles rather than simply being turned on by power. That alone makes him more interesting than some of his fellow baddies.
Sadly, the films he appears in - and particularly Episode II - are a mess with poor story and mostly under-nourished characters defining them a little too much.
