12 Awesome Villains In Otherwise Terrible Movies
5. Darkness - Legend
Tim Curry has quite the knack for being so brilliant (or so distracting) that nobody really notices how mediocre the films he's in can be. And just as his Pennywise was FAR superiro to It overall, his take as Darkness in Ridley Scott's Legend stood out like a sore thumb.
Sure, the film has cult appeal - and a committed fandom who definitely haven't watched it in a while - but its quality is neither fitting of Scott's usual ability or of the money spent on making it so lavish. The plot's a mish-mash of fantasy cliches including unicorn murder, and frankly, it's only Curry's Satan-like Darkness that makes it at all watchable.
Under all the make-up, Curry gives precisely no f*cks, and while he should have been limited by his costume, this is actually about the best he's ever been. It's just a shame the movie is so oddly boring.
