12 AWFUL Sequels That Made More Money Than Blade Runner 2049

5. Wrath Of The Titans

Sam Worthington Wrath Of The Titans
Warner Bros.

Box Office: $305.3 million

Though it fell far short of Clash of the Titans' $493.2 million gross in 2010, when the Sam Worthington boom was in full swing, the 2012 sequel nevertheless doubled its $150 million budget, despite being a soulless, CGI-slathered retread with Worthington once again butchering his attempt at an American accent.

This is one of those blockbuster sequels you're probably not even sure you've seen: it looks visually familiar, because of course it does, but at the same time, it's hard to remember anything about the plot or characters.

It is pure, shoddy tentpole formula, quickly cranked out for undemanding international audiences, even though its middling box office performance effectively killed the prospect of a third film.

Simply, it's complete shlock.
