12 Bad-Ass DC Movie Scenes That We Almost Got To See
3. The Horse Sequence - Batman '89
In an early version of Batman 1989 - which got as far as being storyboarded - Robin was introduced through a sequence that felt very similar to what we later got in Batman Forever with the death of the Flying Graysons.
In the excised early version, Batman would have chased The Joker on a horse at high speed through Gotham (somehow managing to change into his Batsuit mid-ride after Alfred dropped it off in his super VW Beetle. They would have ended up at a free open air event starring the Flying Graysons, which presented the Joker with an opportunity to escape.
He would have thrown an explsoive into a fireworks truck, and as it all kicked off, Dick's father would fall to his death and his mother is burnt alive in front of her son. Nice and family friendly, by the sound of it, but definitely a missed opportunity for a great spectacle...
