7. Passing The Torch - Batman Beyond

Back before Batman Begins was brought to life, we very nearly got a Batman Beyond movie, with a teenage Terry McGinnis taking over from Batman twenty years after his apparent retirement.

Based on the very popular animated series, Beyond's biggest selling point wasn't just having a whole new slate to play with, but also the idea of introducing an older, gnarled Bruce Wayne, who would symbolically pass the torch to McGinnis.

In the original outline, we would have actually seen that happen, as one of the former Batman actors would have been asked to appear to build his legacy - which is one of those incredible moments we'll probably now never get (aside from The Dark Knight Rises' indirect version of it of course).
