12 Badass MCU Plans That Should NEVER Have Been Scrapped
4. Hawkeye In The Winter Soldier
Without question, one of the most underrated characters in the entire franchise is Clint Barton. He spent the majority of Avengers Assemble fighting for Loki, and missed out on Infinity War entirely. Though he had much bigger roles in Age of Ultron, Civil War, and Endgame, Hawkeye still doesn’t get the respect he deserves.
The character almost had a decent sized role in Captain America: The Winter Soldier however, and thinking back, it’s a little strange that he didn’t. The entire story revolved around the demise of SHIELD, of which Hawkeye was a high ranking agent. He was an Avenger after all!
Yet, when the entire organisation fell to its knees, Fury, Nat, and Maria Hill were all heavily involved, but where was Clint? There was a version of the script where Hawkeye received a call telling him Captain America was a traitor, with the movie going on to explore how he would react.
There was even a scene planned where Clint would come face to face with Cap, firing arrows at his fellow Avenger’s feet. Not only would this story have made perfect sense, it would have developed Barton’s character in a way he never was pre Age of Ultron.
