12 Bafflingly High 2018 IMDB Scores You Will Not Believe
7. Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes Of Grindelwald (6.8)
Big franchise movies with rabid fanbases always tend to over-perform on IMDB, and the latest entry into the Wizarding World franchise is clearly no exception.
Despite being torn to shreds by critics and hardcore fans alike for its generic plotting, frequently wavering tone and unnecessary abundance of nonsensical plot twists, The Crimes of Grindelwald still fared well enough with the casuals to score a totally solid 6.8.
For context, that gives it the same score as the new Halloween movie, while slightly above Bird Box (6.7), Mowgli: Legend of the Jungle (6.6), Red Sparrow (6.6), Tag (6.6), Ocean's Eight (6.2) and Blockers (6.2).
Considering that each of those movies is decidedly more consistent and less frustrating than this movie, something fishy's going on.
The Score It Deserves: It's not without its dazzling moments and the cast is certainly trying their best, but the leaden script just kills this one. It's slightly less than a middle-of-the-road movie, so 4.8.
