12 Best Black Comedy Movies Of All Time

Fear And Loathing In Las Vegas of course stars Johnny Depp (back when he did good movies) and Benicio Del Torro (who has always done good movies) sprint across the Nevada desert while high on hallucinogenics.

The film is so drug-heavy that it manages to make you feel as if you riding right along with them, high as a kite, swatting the bats in the sky. It's raw, it's insightful, and it is incredibly funny. It might have a smidgin of glamourizing drugs but what black comedy hasn't been held responsible for the promotion of something or other?

As expected for a drug movie, it was a financial failure with critics doing their best to avoid being seen with it in public. Thankfully, this was just what director and Monty Python legend, Terry Gilliam wanted, claiming, "I want it to be seen as one of the great movies of all time, and one of the most hated movies of all time."

And that's exactly what it is.
