12 Best Comic Book Movie Trailers Ever

2. X-Men: Days Of Future Past (Trailer #1)

Patrick Stewart's Charles Xavier and James McAvoy's Charles Xavier. Ian McKellan's Magneto and Michael Fassbender's Magneto! Hugh Jackman's Wolverine, and, well, Hugh Jackman's Wolverine!

X-Men: First Class did a great job of reigniting a franchise that had fizzled out with The Last Stand, and the first trailer for Days of Future Past promises the perfect blend of old and new, and immediately raises the stakes. The slow-building music, coupled with the voiceovers from Stewart and McKellan, give this far more weight than a lot of comic book movies, and it does a great job of establishing quite a dark and heavy tone, while introducing the mutants from the past, future, and present in a more natural way than the roll-call used in the older X-Men trailers (although they were still good, just see the gif below).

It teases the plot rather than giving it all away, has a couple of moments of dry Wolverine humour, Peter Dinklage sporting a fantastic moustache, and an absolute killer of a last line: "Please. We need you to hope again."
