12 Best Fan Theories For 2018's Biggest Movies
1. The Man On The Film Reel Is Bobby Kennedy - Bad Times At The Royale
Drew Goddard's ambitious ensemble thriller introduces a curious MacGuffin late in the day, a film reel of an important person having sex, which was recorded at the El Royale for blackmail purposes.
With the film's 1969 setting, many immediately jumped to the suspicion that the tapes featured John F. Kennedy going at it with someone, most likely Marilyn Monroe, and some even suggested it might be Martin Luther King. Jr.
But if you really look at the facts, it's far more likely that the tape actually features JFK's brother, Bobby Kennedy.
For starters, JFK was assassinated six years before the events of the movie while Bobby was killed the previous June, and Bobby's death occured in California, one of two states the El Royale resides in.
And much like his older brother, there have been constant rumours over the years of Bobby's extra-curricular philandering, albeit certainly not on JFK's level.
Bobby's just a more natural fit for this timeline, and it's a good deal less obvious than picking his more iconic and popular brother.
