12 Best Movies Starring The Simpsons Actors

5. The Pursuit Of Happyness

Hank Azaria Mystery Men

The one entry on the list for the voice of Homer Simpson himself, Dan Castellaneta, who plays Stock broker Alan Frakesh in this truly moving film. Castellaneta delivers a nuanced performance as the boss for Will Smith's protagonist, Chris Gardner, a real life character who takes on a non paid six month internship for the stock broking firm Frakesh works for.

The film proves to be equal parts uplifting and heartbreaking, with unemployed and broke single father Gardner attempting to win his place as a stock broker while living in and out of homeless shelters with his son Christopher. The heartbreaking moments where Gardner finds himself sleeping in the firm's lavatories as the tears fall from his eyes as he cuddles his son, is truly hard to watch.

Will Smith is just extraordinary, bringing depth and gravitas to this real life character who experienced the highs and lows of the American way of life. The resilience of Gardner is quite remarkable, the proud man never letting those around him know how low he was getting, even lending $5 to his boss despite it being the only money he had.

The moment when Gardner is given a full time position at the stockbroking firm is nothing but what our protagonist deserves, the tears of joy from the man mirroring our own.
