12 Biggest Genuine Shocks In MCU History
6. The Ant-Man & The Wasp Post-Credit Scene
One of the greatest things about the Marvel Cinematic Universe is the sheer range of projects on offer. Action, comedy, sci-fi, espionage, war movies, heist movies, coming-of-age movies, and even some aspects of horror, the spectrum is wider than any other franchise in movie history.
This is how a devastatingly dark movie like Avengers: Infinity War was able to be followed up by one of the most comedy-heavy movies in Ant-Man and the Wasp. It was like Kevin Feige knew exactly what he was putting fans through when Thanos snapped his fingers, so he gave them a little comic relief straight after with Paul Rudd.
However, everything always connects, and though Ant-Man was completely absent from Infinity War, it didn’t mean he wasn’t affected by its events. After a movie that seemingly ignored the Mad Titan altogether, fans were lulled into a false sense of security until the brutal post-credits scene.
As Scott delved into the Quantum Realm, he lost contact with Hope, Hank, and Janet. After a second or two of panic, the scene switched from Scott to the rooftop where his associates had been, only instead of three bodies, there was just a sprinkling of dust. Talk about pulling the rug out from under someone.
