12 Biggest Genuine Shocks In MCU History
5. Marc Spector's Death
This entry doesn’t necessarily deal with Marc Spector’s death in terms of the gunshot from Arthur Harrow that killed him, but more the aftermath. In episode four of Moon Knight, Spector’s body hit the floor of the Egyptian pyramid, but that wasn’t the end of the chapter.
Instead of cutting to black, as that would normally have been the likely place to finish the episode, everything went white. Marc, Steven, and potentially even Jake Lockley were instead transported to what appeared to be a pristine, sterile mental institution.
Oscar Isaac’s characters were patients, and just about every character seen throughout the series, no matter how briefly, appeared to have a role in this new scenario, whether it was reality, a dream, the afterlife, or who knows what else.
Things only got weirder from there, as Marc found himself for the first time ever living in a separate body from Steven, physically able to hug the persona he created to shield himself from his mother’s savagery. The two came together two discover Taweret, the anthropomorphic, humanoid hippo who was the goddess of women and children. Needless to say, fans have rarely been as confused in the MCU as this, even throughout WandaVision.
