12 Biggest MCU Characters Without A Confirmed Return Date
3. Spider-Man
There have been questions hanging over the future of Spider-Man in the Marvel Cinematic Universe pretty much from the moment he entered the fray in Civil War. Since Sony has been essentially lending the character back to Marvel Studios, they could pull the plug at any time.
There were heavy rumours that Tom Holland would not return to the franchise after completing his own trilogy, and with the actor himself famously saying he wouldn’t want to play Peter Parker when he is 30 years old, there seemed to be a genuine threat of the Web-head leaving the MCU.
After No Way Home, those fears seem to have been put to bed. The movie’s ending clearly opened up a new chapter for Peter without Aunt May and without a soul in the world knowing his true identity, which sets up his future perfectly.
Kevin Feige has also namedropped Spider-Man as a character at the forefront of the MCU’s street-level stories alongside Daredevil, and so it would seem ludicrous after that to not have a fourth Spider-Man movie in the MCU. Possibly even a whole second trilogy.
