At first glance it seemed that Hawkeye was Clint Barton’s show, as the only original Avenger who never got to have his own solo movie series. By the end of the show however, it was clear that it wasn’t Barton for who the series was named.

There have been some incredible characters introduced in Phase Four of the MCU, and Kate Bishop is easily up there with the best of them. Hailee Steinfeld has brought to life the hilariously over-confident and sarcastic Bishop to perfection, and like Yelena and She-Hulk, she has the potential to be one of the biggest names in the franchise moving forward.

She is a versatile character and could slot into just about any situation. Being called up to the Avengers? Sure. A second season of Hawkeye to put the spotlight on her truly taking over from Barton? Absolutely. Leading the Young Avengers should they ever be brought together in the franchise? We can only hope.

It wouldn’t even be too surprising to imagine Yelena calling on Kate for some help in Thunderbolts to close out Phase Five. Even if she doesn’t don her bow and arrow, just a nod to the fact that she and Yelena have made the full transition from frenemies to BFFs would be enough to send the fans crazy. Make it happen, Mr. Feige.
