9. C-3PO's Origin

Back in the original trilogy, there is absolutely no hint that Darth Vader recognises C-3PO when they share scenes and famously, nor is there any hint that Obi-Wan recognises them either. This would be absolutely fine apart from the fact that they both had reason to, according to the retconned backstory established in the prequel trilogy.

Episode One confirms that Anakin actually built C-3PO as his own droid, as a means to show off his genius intellect and to bring the droid into the story. So how come Vader shows no hint of recognition?

And even worse, how doesn't Obi-Wan recognise the droid when he's so recognisable and was present at so many key events in his life? You can't just put that down to everyone wiping their own memories because Threepio was so annoying.
