12 Biggest Retcons In Star Wars Movie History
8. Boba Fett
Despite the fact that he's only on screen for a comparatively short amount of time in the original trilogy, Boba Fett quickly became one of the franchise's most popular characters. It helped that he looked like a bona-fide bad-ass and that a lack of story allowed fans to fill the legend in themselves.
Inevitably, when the prequel trilogy came out, LucasFilm decided to expand on the particularly valuable brand and introduced the story of Jango Fett and the Clone Army (of which Boba was an individual clone). Whether you think it was a good idea is a subjective thing, but the fact that we only got to see Boba as a teenager didn't exactly cater to fans of his cool.
And while it was interesting that he was a clone, it meant that his few lines of dialogue in Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi had to be overdubbed by Temuera Morrison, the actor who played Jango.
