7. Orlando Bloom (Doctor Strange)

If Marvel are looking to cast a young, inexperienced Doctor Strange, they could do a lot worse than Orlando Bloom. Bloom has the striking features, dark hair and skinny beard down to a tee but is also not averse to playing heroes from the realms of fantasy - having portrayed the elf prince Legolas in the
Lord of the Rings series. Many people will be wanting to see an older actor take on the role of Strange in the Marvel cinematic universe, but I don't see that working. Magic is clearly something that is new to Earth and Stephen Strange should discover it on screen and get taken on a journey to becoming the Sorcerer Supreme from start to finish. Seeing his learning curve before he defeats - or helps the Avengers to defeat - a powerful evil character will make his ultimate success more satisfying. Doctor Strange is set to appear in his own film in Phase 3 of the Marvel cinematic universe, which will begin in 2015 with Ant-Man - though a cameo for, or at least a hint towards, the character is something many people hope to see at some point in Phase 2.
