12 Characters Who Will Probably Die In 2018's Biggest Movies
8. Beckett - Solo: A Star Wars Story
Why He Should Die: He's Han Solo's mentor, so he needs to die, really. Yes, it's a pretty tidy and predictable way to get rid of the character without having to explain his absence in all the subsequent Star Wars movies, but you know that Woody Harrelson's going to do a fantastic job with it regardless.
If done right, Beckett's demise could further inform the Han Solo character and provide some crucial additional character development.
Plus, his death makes a lot more sense than killing off, say, Emilia Clarke's Kira, considering that Rogue One already did away with one of the series' few major female characters by getting rid of Jyn Erso. We've got plenty of guys: Woody can go.
How He'll Die: Almost certainly sacrificing himself to save Solo in one way or another, that's for sure. Expect his death to be a little more low-key and low-stakes than some of the more bombastic death scenes in the franchise.
It's even possible Beckett's death may mirror that of his equivalent in the Star Wars Legends canon, Garris Shrike (who many initially believed Harrelson was playing), who was murdered by a rival bounty hunter while trying to track down an estranged Solo.
