6. Cecilia Reyes (Alice Braga) - The New Mutants

It might feel a bit like The New Mutants is never coming out, but if Fox is to be believed, we'll all be able to watch it on August 2nd of next year...possibly on Netflix.

While there's virtually zero chance of any of the five young mutant protagonists meeting their end during the movie, it's highly probable that the instigating incident which allows them to escape their secret confinement is the death of their mentor, Cecilia Reyes (Alice Braga).

It just makes all the dramatic sense: an attack from the movie's still-unknown villain (rumoured to be Demon Bear) will result in Reyes' death, forcing the mutants out into the open while giving them a dramatic drive for vengeance.

It's worth noting that Reyes herself is a mutant with the ability to project forcefields, but considering that damage to the forcefield causes her pain, it's totally conceivable that a fierce antagonist like Demon Bear could break through and make short work of her.
