5. Hawkeye - Avengers: Age Of Ultron

Joss Whedon has been a little cagey about the idea of killing any characters off in the Avengers sequel, but it looks nailed on that the threat of Ultron is going to need a significant shot in the arm. The trailer carried a lot of eye-catching moments with the Avengers sitting around devastated, and it's already known that the stakes will be huge and the impact devastating; reading death into that context is a natural thing. Obviously Captain America and Iron Man cannot die, because they face off in Civil War; Hulk is basically invulnerable; Nick Fury has already "died"; and Thor has a sequel coming. That leaves Black Widow - the only female member of the team (for now), who isn't likely to be killed off for that alone - and Hawkeye, who has the least narrative intrigue and loose ends to tie up. That would suggest that he might be the one to go, especially as Whedon has said he will get more story focus after being a little screwed by the events of the first Avengers movie. And you have to think that few would be particularly bothered if that was to be the case.
