12 Comic Book Film Adaptations Stuck In Development Hell

5. Green Arrow: Supermax

Although it seems to have been effectively and indefinitely cancelled, Supermax would still make a great premise for a tight, Dredd-by-way-of-Shawshank, superhero flick. With Arrow having established Oliver Queen more in the wider public consciousness, the opportunity to present the character on the big screen is arguably more valid than when the project was first announced. One approach would be to see how the burgeoning cinematic DCCU develops, specifically through JLA, then if Arrow is a part of the team, make the film a spin-off side project, or make it the focus of a future JLA story. It would be intriguing if Warner Bros were considering carrying over the TV versions of Flash and Green Arrow to the Affleck/Cavill/Gadot League. This has to be considered unlikely, but it would remove the need to introduce the characters in an in depth way, and without the demand for the oft-repeated origin story there could be scope for stories like Supermax to be told.
