4. Wonder Woman
As with Green Arrow the status of an individual Wonder Woman flick would now seem to be inextricably linked to the fate of Snyder's Dawn of Justice and its JLA follow-up. The most noted previous attempt to bring the Amazonian to cinema was of course Joss Whedon's treatment, which was in development at Warners from 2005 to 2007 before finally being struck from their slate. Whedon isn't the only director to to encounter problems in adapting the material. In the wake of Tim Burton's Batman, Ivan Reitman was going to direct a Wonder Woman feature, but eventually dropped out in 1996. Several other writers and directors have had a crack at it, including Brett Strickland and Matthew Jennison's version, which was set during World War II. Of course David E. Kelley's TV version starring Adrianne Palicki made it to pilot in 2011, but the results were deemed so horrible it is still to see the light of day. Before Diana was announced as featuring in the Snyder-verse, Bronson and Drive director Nicholas Wending Refn had publicly expressed an interest in tackling the property, whether he is a candidate to further the cinematic life of Gal Gadot's version remains to be seen.
