12 Comic Book Movie Characters Screwed By Their Adaptation
3. Mr. Freeze (Batman & Robin)
Mr. Freeze is a legitimate threat to Batman in the comic books. He was a fairly feeble man, but he has a genius-level intellect almost on Batman's level and is an expert in cryogenics, while he also wields a freeze gun and wears an exo-suit that keeps his body at subzero temperatures, following an accident, which also gives him superhuman strength and durability. What he isn't in the comics is a Central European meat-head with a penchant for utterly atrocious cheesy one-liners. Arnold Schwarzenegger can't be blamed for his part in this adaptation of the character - he is absolutely nothing like the classic version of the man he was portraying and he can only read the lines he is given in any given role - but he simply isn't Victor Fries and, as a result, this adaptation was truly horrible. It was undoubtedly one of the worst comic book villain portrayals in any movie, period.
