12 Comic Book Movie Characters Screwed By Their Adaptation
4. Doctor Doom (Fantastic Four Movies)
Doctor Doom is one of the outright greatest villains in the history of comic books and this depiction of the character was, quite frankly, an insult. In the comic books, Doom boasts a plethora of powers that come from his armoured suit - which is full to the brim with incredibly high-tech gadgetry like freeze rays, teleportation devices and forcefield generators - and from the fact that he is highly skilled in the mystic arts and can cast powerful spells like the Crimson Bands of Cyttorak. In these movies, he is completely lacking in any magical abilities and the one power he does have - a lame ability to fire electricity from his body - comes from exposure to the same cosmic storm that gave the Fantastic Four themselves their powers. These facts, combined with the fact that this version of Doom is a wimpy pretty boy without the level of genius, willpower or arrogance that the classic character possesses makes him a truly horrible adaptation of his comic book counterpart.
