12 Comic Book Movie Characters Screwed By Their Adaptation
10. Drake (Blade: Trinity)
Drake was actually a modern and unique depiction of the classic character Dracula - but frankly it was a terrible adaptation. In Blade: Trinity, rather than being depicted as the dark and mysterious Count we all know from various other sources (including Marvel comic books), he is presented as someone who was an ancient Sumerian warrior-king, before he abruptly withdrew from the world which he had come to be so disappointed in, and who was resurrected in order to destroy Blade. His human form is a physically fit and muscular male with a short haircut and a muscular build - very unlike the gaunt and often longer-haired depictions we are more used to. In his ancient, monstrous form he has an armoured hide which, while granting him a level of durability, could be penetrated as seen when Blade impaled him with the Daystar arrow - which is a form the classic version of Dracula doesn't have. Frankly, it would have been far more satisfying seeing Blade dealing with the classic Count, who could utilise magic to cast spells, change in to a bat or a wolf and hypnotise people. Instead we got a fairly typical brick with no mystique or esoteric powers and it ruined him.
