12 Comic Book Movie Characters Screwed By Their Adaptation

8. Parallax (Green Lantern)

Comic book movies don't do cosmic entities too well and the first example of that in this list is Parallax from Green Lantern. In the comic books, Parallax is a cosmic entity which often looks like a large yellow insect-type creature (though it can change its form at will). It is capable of such epic feats as mass reality alteration, control over time itself, flight, bodily possession, mind-control, mass fear-induction and the creation of solid yellow fear energy constructs. In the Green Lantern movie, it was presented like some kind of supernatural horror movie monster which frankly looked terrible and wasn't very powerful at all. It looked like something from The Fog, The Mummy or Darkness Falls and was nothing like the powerful cosmic being the comics have shown it to be since it first appeared - and a single novice Green Lantern was able to defeat it by himself, in spite of the fact that it was meant to have killed legions of them prior to the events in the movie.
