Considering his Asgardian manners are so at odds with present-day earthling behaviour, Thor is arguably one of the most amusing onscreen characters in the Marvel Cinematic Universe and this contrast, along with Dr Jane Foster’s attempts to educate him in acceptable human etiquette, is used to comedic effect in the Thor film series.

There’s a particularly funny moment in the series’ second instalment Thor: The Dark World when upon entering an apartment the Asgardian superhero, at a loss with what to do with his trusty hammer Mjolnir, politely hangs the hefty weapon from a coat hook.

Chris Hemsworth apparently came up with the gag whilst joking around on the set in between takes much to the amusement of cast and crew members, so much so that the unscripted moment made the cut into the final film.
