12 Comic Book Movie Moments That Ignored The Script
5. Jamie Foxx’s Itsy Bitsy Spider
Hot on the heels of Django Unchained, Jamie Foxx announced he would join the cast of The Amazing Spider-Man 2 as electrical engineer Max Dillion who becomes Electro after an unfortunate encounter with some eels.
Sadly, despite its predecessor showing promise, not even an Oscar winner like Foxx could save the film, which seemed to suffer the curse of the sequel disappointing many fans and critics. It did give Foxx an opportunity to practice his improv skills, however, with the actor contributing his own take on the classic kid’s nursery rhyme Itsy Bitsy Spider, in which it’s Electro rather than the rain that wipes the spider out.
But if that sounds familiar, it’s because Willem Dafoe as the Green Goblin said almost exactly the same line in Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man over a decade earlier. Not so off the cuff after all, eh Mr Foxx?
