More superhero controversy here as the latest Superman film rehashes his origin story. The film was far too long and aside from Kevin Costner, failed to bring the promised Nolan-esque grit to Superman. The fanboy outcry came from the final scenes of the film where Superman, who is traditionally sworn to not kill, can find no solution to stop Zod killing a family with his heat vision other than to kill him. That's right Superman murders General Zod. (who quite frankly, had a very valid point in his motivations) The director and producers have tried to assuage fans by insisting that putting Superman in an 'impossible' situation is a key part of the origin and this is not yet the fully formed hero that we all know. Between resolving this and BatFleck, 'Batman Vs. Superman' has got one hell of a job to do.
