1. Get Out - Rose Gets Hypnotised

Die Hard Hans 2
Blumhouse

Finally, we have Get Out, Jordan Peele's breakout mash-up of horror and thriller elements. What starts out as a seemingly normal tale of Chris (Daniel Kaluuya) heading to meet his white girlfriend's family quickly takes a turn for the worst.

It turns out that Rose's family are a pack of psychopathic hypnotists who want to twist black people and steal what they deem their finest traits for their own ends. Initially it's confirmed that Rose's mother is the mastermind behind the psychosis and the other family members are all in on the scheme.

Adding a little more ambiguity to the proceedings, one moment that was removed from Get Out was a conversation between Chris and his girlfriend.

Rose says in cut dialogue: "I had the same thing. She hypnotised me when I was in school for stage fright and I had the craziest nightmares. But I just remember thinking, it worked".

Is Rose a clear cut villain or not? With these lines included, there's room for a wider debate among viewers. By planting the seed earlier in the film's runtime, the ultimate reveals also have greater foreshadowing.
