1. Alien TV Series

In the news that has got us most excited over here, Fargo showrunner Noah Hawley (he of the recently dead Star Trek film) will be helming the new Alien TV series on FX. Though as yet unconfirmed, Disney is courting Ridley Scott to come on board as executive producer as well.

The series is said to be set in the not too distant future and, for the first time, set on Earth. (If you want to count the Alien vs. Predator films, we've still got love for you) There are rumours as well that it will revolve around Alien and Aliens, easily the two most popular entries in the series - emulating the horror of Alien and the action of Aliens.

Though details are thin on the ground thus far, the announcement that Hawley is on board will come as good news to fans. He had previously teased, without confirming, that he was going to be involved in some way. If the excellent Fargo series is anything to go by, then the Alien series will be in good hands.

It remains to be seen what a series set on Earth will look like and how or even if it will connect with Ridley Scott's Prometheus and Alien: Covenant films. Will the Engineers feature at all? Will we see many different variations on the Xenomorph?

All remains to be seen - but this is an excellent step forward for fans of the franchise!
