12 Disney Films & TV Shows Coming 2021 & Beyond

6. Percy Jackson Series

This one will be very exciting for fans of the Percy Jackson book series! Series creator Rick Riordan (lovingly known as 'Uncle Rick' in fan circles) debuted a teaser for a new, upcoming Percy Jackson series coming to Disney+ in the future.

Almost nothing is known about the new series, other than Uncle Rick seems to be very excited about it. He released a small teaser to Tik Tok, and has been theorizing about what direction the series could head in on his blog.

The Percy Jackson series has previously been adapted to two motion pictures, though Uncle Rick hasn't been happy with either of them. He was particularly annoyed by the fact that the studio aged up the characters, so presumably this is something that will be fixed by Disney, for him to present his excitement like this.

He will be involved in all areas of writing, so this will be good news for those who were not satisfied with the other films. No casting nor release details as yet.
