The baton, the truncheon, the tonfa (if you want to get fancy). These are a simple deterrent used by many a force around the globe, and for good effect. They work, why would you need to mess with them?

Even worse, why would you make one that causes people to vomit?

I get that no one is going to sprint and honk up at the same time. As a deterrent, sure, top marks for doing as predicted.

But what's the inherent flaw with uncontrollable, projectile vomiting? Well, I think I've just given the answer away there.

Imagine it: you're a cop, you've got a suspect in front of you resisting arrest, so you whap out your sick stick and give them a dose. But their eyes become wide as they fix on you, full on, the cheeks puff out...

I'm not saying that there isn't sufficient training for these things in the future, but there's so many variables. What if you point the honker at one of your colleagues, for example. They won't be thanking you afterwards, I can guarantee that much.
