8. Time Looping - Blair Witch
Everyone was pleasantly surprised when it was revealed "The Woods" was actually Blair Witch, a belated threequel to the classic original. Since it came from the writer/director duo who brought us You’re Next and The Guest, it seemed like it might be a worthy successor to the first movie.
Nah, it’s fairly average stuff. Its biggest mistake is Xeroxing the original's struture, and while it adds some new elements to the mythology none of them is worth watching the movie for. This includes the witches new time looping ability, which is revealed by the end. This ability might have actually been creepy with the right execution, but the movie sadly fumbles the potential and uses it as a convenient plot device to explain how the whole story is an endless loop.
It even goes a step further by implying the witch is some kind of alien, but it thankfully stops short of confirming that.
