12 Dumbest Movie Plot Twists Of 2019

6. Bill Nighy Possesses Mewtwo - Pokémon Detective Pikachu

Detective Pikachu was a pretty decent video game adaptation for the most part, though it arguably veered a little too far into silly territory with the third act reveal that Rime City founder Howard Clifford (Bill Nighy) was the real villain.

Furthermore, he captures Mewtwo and plans to use the Pokémon's abilities to merge humans and Pokémon together, even taking direct control of Mewtwo through a neural-link helmet.

Seeing Mewtwo fly around while voiced by Bill Nighy is even dumber than it sounds, and though it wasn't exactly a shocker that Nighy turned out to be the film's villain, having him literally become Mewtwo, albeit only temporarily, was surely a step too goofy.
