Debuting at the Venice Film Festival before its long anticipated debut this October comes Todd Phillips (The Hangover) directorial picture The Joker in which one of the finest actors in the world; Joaquin Phoenix (Her) will dawn the famous makeup as he immerses himself in the role of the clown prince of crime.

What is there to say about the anticipation and potential for this movie that has not already been said. All the components are there for a performance near the level of the late Heath Ledger from eleven years ago. Mix that with a story in which the director has said to be different from anything we have seen in film or the comics before and this will be a sadistic joy.

Who knows, if this movie lives up to the hype and Phoenix delivers a method performance on par with what we have seen from him in the past, we may see the Joker character awarded a second academy award.
