2. "Season of the Witch" - Mean Streets
Yeah, yeah: I'm sure that if Mean Streets had ended up being called "Season of the Witch" it wouldn't have made a difference, and we'd have known no better, but c'mon - does that title feel at all right for the movie we're talking about here at all? When I hear "Season of the Witch," I think about the Donovan song first, then that Godawful Nicolas Cage movie of the same name that they made a few years ago. The first draft of Mean Streets was named after the Donovan song, of course, and not the Cage movie, but we're super glad Scorsese changed it.
