1. The Batman

Whether you like their films or not, there's no denying that Warner Bros. are masters of the pre-release tease. Whether it's showing off Ben Affleck in the Batman suit (alongside the new Batmobile) ahead of Batman v Superman, or drip-feeding hungry fans behind-the-scenes footage from Joker, the marketing team absolutely know how to get people talking.

Following on from Joker's first costume test tease, the company has now released a similar video highlighting Robert Pattinson's first time stepping into the new Batman costume. Accompanied by the moody score from the film's composer, the first look focused primarily on the crest at the heart of the suit, as well as Pattinson's killer jawline.

While we can all appreciate the latter, it was the former that was the most striking, as this wasn't simply any old bat symbol. Fans quickly put together that the chestplate was made from pieces of a handgun, which is a reference to the fact that in recent comic stories, Bruce Wayne has moulded the weapon that killed his parents into the metal that protects his heart.

It's an exceptionally cool little detail, and made everyone salivate over how great a proper trailer is going to be. That is, everyone other than the people who thought the red lighting and suit collar made The Dark Knight look more like Daredevil.
