2. The Power Inconsistencies - Star Wars: The Force Awakens

This has nothing to do with Rey's inconsistent ability to somehow use the Force like a pro by the end of a single movie (there might be further revelations in the sequels that explain she HAS had some training), but rather the inconsistencies surrounding two other supposedly powerful characters. Firstly, Maz Kanata is presented as some sort of almost omniscient sage, who is aware of Han Solo's presence as soon as he enters her bar. Yet she cannot spot the fact that there are at least two First Order spies among the patrons in the bar - information that would have been useful to pass on to the runaways. And then, more pertinently, why does Kylo Ren go from being so powerful that he can stop a blaster bolt in mid-air in the first act to forgetting entirel that he has any Force capability at all when he fits Finn and Rey? He could literally throw trees at them, and yet even when he's struggling he never uses his super powerful evil magic. What's up with that?
