12 Great Recent Movies You'll Never Be Able To Watch Again

7. 22 July

Any film about a real-life tragedy will usually end up on lists like this and 22 July is no exception. 22 July is every bit as upsetting as a film which focuses on the 2011 Norway Attacks, which is one of the worst terrorist attacks in European history, should be.

22 July was written and directed by Paul Greengrass, who has proven himself a master of recreating real-life tragedies with films like United 93 and Captain Phillips. 22 July isn't quite as good as those two movies but it is still a hard-hitting, superbly-made and brilliantly acted drama that's both a sad reminder of all the people killed in the attacks but also a wonderful tribute to the survivors.

It does have uplifting elements in the latter part of the film, but it is still a tough sit. The recreation of the attacks are terrifying and horrific, Anders Danielsen Lie's performance as the perpetrator, Anders Behring Breivik, is incredibly unsettling and the film presents a very sad story of trauma and loss.

Therefore, once is definitely enough. To be honest, given the subject matter, many might be hesitant about sitting down to watch this at all.
