12 Great Recent Movies You'll Never Be Able To Watch Again

6. Hotel Mumbai

Leave No Trace
Bleecker Street

Another dramatisation of a terrorist attack, this one recounts the story of the 2008 Mumbai Attacks and depicts some hotel staff members defending the hotel's guests from the attackers.

A criminally under-seen and under-appreciated movie, Hotel Mumbai is a very good recreation of a tragedy. Inevitably, some will question whether or not a film should really have been made about such a recent atrocity, but Hotel Mumbai is respectful, never exploitative and makes for a deeply stirring tribute to both the victims and the survivors of the attacks.

Still, just like with 22 July, any film which depicts this kind of event is something many will be hesitant about watching at all, let alone watching again.

It's a murderously intense, frequently terrifying film that recreates the horror of the real-life event to powerful effect, and as you'd expect from this kind of film, it's full of upsetting death scenes.

This is recommended viewing since not enough people saw it and it's one of 2019's most underrated films, but one viewing will be enough for most viewers.
