Loki wasnt the first villain to intentionally get himself caught and he wont be the last to do so on this list. He earns his high ranking, though, by the sheer amount of destruction he engineers on his way out of the Helicarrier. The God of Mischief proves himself to also be a master manipulator. Considering the handful of superheroes and dozens of S.H.I.E.L.D. agents onboard at the time, Loki does very little of his own fighting. The mind-controlled Hawkeye leads an attack from the outside while Loki works his magic to make The Avengers see their greatest enemies in each other. Its all too easy when the Hulk starts attacking Black Widow, and then Thor. In addition to triggering awesome action scenes, Lokis escape features the emotional linchpin of the film when he kills Phil Coulson. The heroes still do not know about Coulsons eventual resurrection and unfortunately for Loki, his murdering of Coulson ended up bringing the scattered superheroes back together.
