8. Extremely Painful, For You - The Dark Knight Rises
Midair villain escapes were kind of a thing in 2012. Bane didnt do it first, but he arguably did it best in a scene that made the spectacle feel real. The CIA, for all its swagger and in-flight interrogation techniques, is no match for Bane. Even with his hands tied behind his back, Bane is an imposing force. First Bane threatens and then he acts. His loyal soldiers arrive via another plane, flip the CIAs plane so that its nose is perpendicular to the ground, and make short work of Banes captors. Meanwhile, Bane retrieves Dr. Pavel, the reason Bane got himself caught in the first place and the key to Gothams destruction. It wasnt just an escape, but a successful mission for Gothams reckoning.
