No matter how many people complain about a film for its controversial moments, there will always be more people who will want to watch those films precisely because of the more graphic or colourful moments. That's why so many people have seen A Serbian Film, or the terrible, terrible Human Centipede films - they have no artistic merit (regardless of their makers' insistence), they are merely flames for a particular type of moth, and they are irresistible. Only Live Twic 2012 was the year of James Bond, as her majesty's greatest spy turned 50 and Sam Mendes' exceptional Skyfall hit cinemas, marrying a celebration of everything that had made Bond great with a bold, engaging vision for future Bonds.
