Back when games were teeth-clenchingly difficult, completing a game used to be the Holy Grail for gamers, but since mobile gaming made the medium disposable enough for us to dip in and out of games whenever we need the toilet, and the market was flooded with inferior releases, the accolade of reaching the credits page has lost some of its appeal. Some of that is thanks to poor quality, and some is simply because we've all evolved to have terrible patience, but there are games out there that actively seek to keep gamers engaged longer, with more collectibles than you could fit in your house, and an aggressive approach to player retension after the end of the main campaign.
